The Association of Icelandic Singing Teachers was founded 9th October, 2005.
Members may include all who have completed training as singing teachers or have regularly taught a roster of more than a few students for at least two years. One may become an associate member if they are currently enrolled in singing teacher training or are serving as singing teachers, but have taught for less than two years.
The Association shall provide opportunities for conversation on singing and teaching techniques, discussions of teachers’ needs and experiences, and shall pass along information on workshops, advanced training, and so on, which may be of interest to its members.
The Association is also a member of international associations of singing teachers, and FÍS members benefit from the wider connections.
